Homework – 11th to 15th January 2016
Maths
·         Practise all division tables. A copy of the tables is in your child’s folder. Interactive Tables games are also a good way of practising. Links can be found on my blog.
·         Work out division questions using the long division method. These questions should be copied from the page into the maths homework copy. Pages must be lined and titled and all questions should be written neatly. An example of how to complete long division questions can be found on the back of the sheet or an explanation video can be viewed on my blog.
·         Complete practical math problem questions

Gaeilge
·         There are 8 Litriú Gaeilge this week. These can be found on page 12 of Litriú É Linn. We have covered them in the past but I would like to go over them again. The list, including English translation and phonetic breakdown can be found on my blog.
·         Continue to use duolingo as a method of practising Irish. I would like everyone to complete a minimum of 4 activities a week. If possible please practise as much as possible.

English
·         New spelling system starting this week. Only 8 spellings in total but all words will be completely different i.e. no word families such as plan, man, tan etc. Activities to practise these words will also be included. Spellings will be differentiated for the needs of individual pupils.
·         There will be a short cloze procedure exercise to complete.

Project / Literacy

Topic:

Egypt and Ancient Egypt
·         From this point forward the class will have to complete one project a month. Each project will focus on a topic from the history, science or geography curriculum.
·         This month’s project will be based on our current history and geography topics – Egypt and Ancient Egypt.
·         Pupils can complete the project using one of two methods.
1.       An A4 sized booklet with a page dedicated to each section.
2.       A PowerPoint presentation (e-mailed to me at belmayneetgof@gmail.com)
·         I’ve listed a number of topics below. Each pupils must choose 4 topics and create their project around them.
·         A number of online links and resources can be found on my blog.
·         The projects can be returned to me anytime between the 22nd and 31st of January.
