Homework 29th February – 4th March 2016


Numeracy
·         One page of math word problems.
·         One page of tables questions. (multiplying and dividing by 8)
·         All work can be completed on worksheet.

Literacy
·         Nine new spellings – worksheets should be in homework folder. Words also on blog.
·         NEW ACTIVITY – This is a parent and child activity and must be done together. It goes through the new ‘Good Behaviour Game’ we’re doing in class.
·         Please sign the booklet and return on Friday.

Gaeilge
·         Eight new spellings. Can be found on pages 52 and 53 of Litrigh É Linn. Also on the blog.
·         Duolingo – 50 XP challenge. Closing time will be Friday at 5pm.

Additional Information
·         This relates to the ‘Good Behaviour Game’ mentioned above. There is an information sheet in all homework folders that explains what it is. You can keep this at home.

Homework 22nd – 26th February 2016


Literacy
·      9 new spellings. Worksheet in folder and also found on the blog.
·      Reading – chapter 3 from Kensuke’s Kingdom. Children can read themselves or parents can read to their children. If possible ask questions about what has happened in the chapter.

Numeracy
·      Tables worksheet
·      Word problems worksheet.
·      All answers can be written on the worksheets.

Gaeilge
·      8 new spellings. Page 45 and 46 of Litrigh E Linn. Also on blog.
·      Duolingo – 50 XP challenge. Must be completed. Any issues please write note.

Tests
·      Results from last spelling tests will be sent home next week.

Tables Champion

Rules:

  1. The class is divided into four leagues. The leagues are named after the four provinces.
  2. Everyday, the pupils try and answer as many tables questions as they can inside 30 seconds.
  3. The scores are added up at the end of each week.
  4. The leagues will run until the end of term, when the top four in each league plays for the title of Tables Champion.

Homework 1st – 5th February



Maths
·         Continue to practice the multiplication and division tables. This can be done independently using the interactive games.
·         One worksheet – half and half. One half based on finding a fraction of a number and the other half word problems. Work can be completed on page.



Gaeilge
·         Spellings can be found on pages 36, 37, 38 & 39. We are focusing on the weather next month so I’m going to skip ahead in the book so the spellings match the topic.
·         Duolingo – 50XP challenge. It is ok to repeat already covered topics. Repetition will lead to mastery.



English
·         Read the first chapter of Kensuke’s Kingdom. Parent can read to child if too difficult. We will be doing a whole class activity based on chapter one on Friday so more important that the children understand what is happening. Spellings can also be found in folder and on the blog.
